LFT Gallery rules of use

Version 2026-09-15 · in effect since September 15, 2026

Leica Fans Taiwan runs this gallery so that members can show their photographs. By using it you agree to these rules. We do not check photographs before they appear, so a few rules are needed to protect you, the people in your pictures, and us.

1. What you are responsible for

Upload a photograph only if you took it, or otherwise hold the right to publish it. People recognisable in a photograph must have agreed to its publication, unless the law provides otherwise. Photographs must not carry advertising, and must not be pornographic, harmful to minors, racist, abusive, defamatory or otherwise unlawful.

2. Your account

Your account is yours alone. Keep your password to yourself, and do not let anyone else post through it. If a complaint under section 5 is brought about something you published, we may close your account.

3. Your rights, and what you grant us

You keep the copyright to every photograph you upload. Nothing here transfers it, and you stay free to sell, print, exhibit and license your own work. The one thing we ask is that you do not grant anyone else exclusive rights to a photograph while it is on display here.

By moving a photograph out of your Inbox, you grant Leica Fans Taiwan a free, non-exclusive permission to show it:

  • on this website, including your portfolio and any curated page;
  • on Leica Fans Taiwan's own channels, such as our Facebook group and Instagram;
  • in print and on screen at Leica Fans Taiwan exhibitions and events.

Your name is shown with the photograph every time. The permission is not limited by country or by period, but you may withdraw it whenever you like — section 8 says how to reach us. We then stop using the photograph and remove it from this website. Please understand that material already printed cannot be recalled, and that a photograph already posted elsewhere may keep appearing for six months or longer.

4. What is public, and what is not

Photographs you upload land first in your Inbox, where only you and the editors can see them. Moving a photograph into an album publishes it and makes it eligible for curation. Submitting a photograph puts it in front of an editor, who may add it to Selection or make it a Mastershot. Your profile and your albums are public.

5. If someone objects

If anyone tells us that a photograph here infringes their rights, we first look at whether the infringement is plain.

If it is plain — for instance the photograph is a copy of someone else's work and they can show they hold the right — we remove it and take reasonable steps to stop the same thing happening again.

If it is not plain, we hide the photograph and tell you about the complaint. If the person complaining gives us enough evidence within a reasonable time, or you do not reply within a reasonable time, we treat it as plain. Otherwise we put the photograph back.

You agree to help us deal with such claims, and to cover claims that third parties bring against us because of what you published.

6. Backups

We do not keep a backup of what you upload, and we are not liable if it is lost. Keep your own originals.

7. Your personal information

See our privacy notice.

8. Getting in touch

Questions about the gallery, requests to close your account, and objections to a photograph all go to the same place: gallery@leicafanstaiwan.org.

9. Trademarks

Leica is a trademark of Leica Camera AG of Wetzlar, Germany, and the camera and lens names used throughout this gallery are theirs. Leica Fans Taiwan is an independent community of photographers who shoot Leica. We are not affiliated with Leica Camera AG, we are not endorsed or sponsored by them, and nothing here is said on their behalf. For anything official, see leica-camera.com.

10. Governing law

These rules are governed by the law of Taiwan.
